I don't do huge amounts of glitter tats normally... it's more of an add on or time filler for parties I paint at. So far I've just sortof spread my stencils on a table and let the kids pick one out. It's not the best system! But I don't want to buy the posters and have to display them and keep everything extra organized, etc etc. So I finally figured out a good system I think. I bought the 3 ring binder Baseball Card sheet protectors and put all my tattoos in those in a binder. The sheets were only $2.50 for 10 pages, and each one has 9 slots. Almost every stencil I had fit in the slots without any problems. A few were a tad too wide, so I just cut a sliver off the sides. Others I just cut the pockets to make it two wide, and then taped the excess shut. I haven't used it at a gig yet, but I think it will be alot easier now. Just take the binder out, have the kids pull out which one they want, and when a design is gone it's no big deal. Smile

Yup, that's how I do it, but I only have one stencil in the pocket (I'm using a binder with photo pages as I have hundreds of them stacked up from photo albums) and keep my supply in a carrying case filed in plastic bags. I've numbered the pockets in the album and the zip bags in the case (not the stencils, then I can switch out easily). It works fine.

They go through the binder, tell me the number of the one they want and I get it out of the case. When I'm down to the last stencil I use the one from the binder.

That's what I want to do, once I find the binder, with those card inserts - haven't been able to track them down yet.

I found having a photo album with pictures of face designs for the kids to choose from works well too (on the front pages I have drawings of cheek ideas)

Check Goodwill/Salvation Army for a nice leather binder---binder pages are the ones for kid's card collections at the big box office suppliers...

Saw this and thought is was a great Idea, so this is how I have been organizing my glitter tattoos so far-- except that I hate it. My stencils are constantly slipping out when I turn the page. Anyone else having this Problem?

I got a binder that zips shut (sorry forgot to mention that) and keep the little tatts in the center where they don't slip out as easy. My daughter sets her glitter on top between guests so that it prevents the slippage from unwanted rummagers...

This was how I initially had my tatts setup but then I had an issue with kids taking out stencils and not putting them back or even helping themselves to more than one and not even getting a tattoo. The last straw was when a kid picked up my book and accidentally tipped it... can you say 200 stencil pickup?

I like my sign board because it shows all the options at a glance (and more than one person can look at it without my book having to suffer from the shoving and pulling that is called sharing now adays. I keep my stencils in a CD case with index dividers that only I go into. When I notice that the stencil is pulled, I play it up as a big deal and give the kid a sticker that says "Sorry, Sold Out" to put over the design as he/she leaves my booth. At the end of the day I have a pretty good idea of what I need to order and my stencils are still safe.

Fantastic ideas! Lady Jayde, I will be definitely trying your idea with the cd cases this weekend. I have a town show this weekend, I can't wait to try it out.

I hope it works well for you Keisha! I have each design numbered on my board and similarly categorized within the CD holder. It's just a simple thing to pluck the right stencil because of the numbering and the box clearly hints at it being an off-limits area. My system has also made it easier for my daughter and son to help out with my tatts when needed (and teaches them the importance of organization).

Just don't drop the box or lose it...when I think about how much money that box of stencils is worth...I get nauseaus.

I have use the binder for a year, in my experience if works this way: 1.- you have to put a piece of tape to every pocket to ovoid tattoos sliden out (by themselves or by little fingers) 2.- keep max. of 4 tattoos in every pocket at the time.

Good job!

I put my tatt's into one of those plastic containers that have the little dividers that can be moved.
They're numbered, and I then made copies of each and made sheets (each sheet holds 12 images of tatt's) in the same order as the container (with the corrosponding number on the bottom corner of each tatt)

Good luck!

Ok, found like a major size jewelry case--soft, with multiple divided sections in "pages" that actually hangs up--it holds 30+ designs, and space for a party size set of glitter/brushes & glue. Seems to be a "luggage" type thing, as it hangs up even!--a Goodwill Special in black! Best thing I have ever seem for glitter tatts, as the sections zip shut! My son (20) loves it....so I am back to my notebook & pages...but I shall search online, as it is awesome if you haven't found the "perfect" thing--it'd be handy just for those short parties where you don't want to carry a ton of stuff...
