I just wanted to HIGHLY recommend Faketoos to my fellow FPF friends. Smile I've officially switched all my tats to Faketoos because I am so happy with both the product and level of service. Mark (who owns the company) is wonderful to work with, very professional and fabulously talented!
HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Faketoos! flower cheers

Well I just wanted to give my two cents about Faketoos. I ordered about 25 different designs from them and have been working my way through the packs the past few weeks and various festivals.

I really like the designs and the public does too! I have been selling lots of them!! That's the good part. I am 80% happy. But.... some of them don't turn out very well due to the way they are designed/cut. For example the snake has two very small eyes which are not connected to any other part of the tattoo. So they are very hard to get off. Compared to ABA tattoos which are admittedly much more simple the extra un-attached parts of the faketoos can cause some problems. I think I will re-order many of the faketoos but be a little more selective about those with floating parts.

Sparklyone would you mind sharing how you made your design board with the inverted tattoos?

@Wonderbrush,
I use the end of a small skewer to lift these small un-attached pieces off. It takes an extra few seconds, but I've never had a client complain.

I use a pretty hors'd'ourves toothpick (the kind with the frilly celophane on the tip) to remove any small bits. Smile It is pretty fast and the extra details on the designs are worth it to me. I also love how some of those detailed designs still look impressive without using a ton of glitter (like the Pikachu above). Wink But I do understand where you're coming from - if you haven't tried gently scraping them up with a toothpick it really works well for me.

Mark at Faketoos made the design menu sign, isn't it pretty?!! Very Happy Contact him about getting one if you're interested, he's great to work with! Like a Star @ heaven

I think it depends on the quantity of tattoos you buy, etc. - please contact Mark for a quote. I love you

Thanks for the tips on the toothpicks. I have tried this and what I found was that when I lifted the eyes off (or other small pieces) that sometimes the glue was still a little sticky and it would smear and or the pieces were so small that I couldn't see where they were to take them off without digging into the actual design.

I also don't like the idea of digging around people's skin with a toothpick or other object it just seems too risky and invasive, IMHO. Just my experience with the way that I am using them...

Wonderbrush, I use tweezers. They aren't as pokey and get under the floating bits to lift right off.

Though, I'm with you in not liking floating bits as they do add time.

I'm so glad to hear that people are having a good experience with him. I emailed/contacted him last year, 3 times, and never received a single response. That put me off from using them. Perhaps I'll consider giving it another try.

Thanks for the recommendation of faketoos---got some to try! Love a lot of their designs, but unless I'm doing a PPP or need a specific logo the ones with lots of bits and pieces are not worth the time. BUT---if I need LOGOS, this IS the place!!

I love Faketoos also, and he was very generous with me and gave me a discount code when I asked for one. Really nice guy. He offered me a set of negative designs, but I have never taken him up on it. I love your boards too! Is this what he meant by negative imagages? Really like that, and I am ready to revamp my glitter tattoo boards, and I have been thinking about the big plastic type you have. LOVE IT.

I use the dental floss picks, the green kind..they have an end that is kind of like a tooth pick, but the plastic glides under the little peices easily without poking.

I would drop Sponge Bob if it were not so popular. My 15 year old tells kids we are out of stock if she has a line or hands them over to me. All in all, just love Faketoos, Mark, and the variety.

Has anyone had him make a custom stencil?
