Ben Nye Prosthetic Adhesive Empty Ben Nye Prosthetic Adhesive

Has anyone ever used Ben Nye Prosthetic Adhesive for glitter tats? I called a local costume shop asking for Pros Aide or glitter tattoo adhesive and this is what they had. He said it's the same thing as the Pros Aide, just a different brand. He had no idea if it would be good for glitter tats or not though. But he did say it's latex based, so I'll have to be careful to ask people if I end up using it. I bought it mainly as a back up, since I have almost 150 tattoo stencils to use tomorrow, and only one and a half little glimmer glue bottles. I didn't want to run out.

Just curious if anyone has used it before. I'll try a test with it tonight and see how it turns out.

Pros Aide is latex based so quite possibly it is the same just rebranded - I've never seen Ben Nye adhesive (other than spirit gum, but that is a whole different type of resin).

FYI... I ended up not needing to use this at my gig because I had very few glitter tat customers, but I did try it on myself with two different designs and types of glitters. It seems alot weaker than the Glimmer glue that I use. I have one tat that I put on on monday with glimmer glue and it's still on, and can not be scratched off (btw, it's friday now). I put one on with the Ben Nye glue yesterday and it's already flaking off after less than 24 hours and it can easily be scratched off. Also, you need to put the glitter on while it's still very wet or else the glitter doesn't stick.

So what I have learned is that this might be a good glue for a glitter tat that people don't want to last long. Or that will come off easily. It doesn't peel off like I have heard with other peoples that they mix paint in to, but it isn't being stubborn either.

This is a product that I have used on numerous occasions. The glues is thinner but my experience has been that it lasts longer than my glimmer glue. In fact, many times with the glimmer glue the tattoo starts coming off after just a few hours while this one stands up to cleaning better.

The only problem that I have had with it is that because it is thinner if your stencil isn't adhered just a tiny bit somewhere the glue easily goes under the stencil, which doesn't happen at all with the glimmer glue.

Hi, this is Betty, based on your experiences, which one is better for freehand glitter tattoos? glimmer glue, proadhesive o prosaid? I've been using prosaid but is so runny, as milk and i have a hard time getting thin lines. I am lookin for the thickest adhesive consistency for freehand glitter tattoos, please help !
