Mica tattoos, just like glitter tattoos but matte, no sparkle. I will explain the steps when I get on a computer. I have a method that made mine last 7 days. Smile

Eileen, did you ever explain your long-lasting mica tat method? I'm getting a glitter tattoo kit for Yule and would love to learn how best to use it beforehand! Smile

Mica is just a fancy word for eyeshadow, it is used to give a shimmer on facepaints and looks really cool on the glitter tattoos. Smile

I know what mica is, as I use mineral makeup and have lots of eyeshadows - basically consisting of mica and some form of mineral binder to help it stay longer on the eyelid. Very Happy I was just wondering what the long-lasting method Eileen mentioned might be, for using them in mica tattoos.

Ohohoh! I'm sorry, I thought you were talking to me, I'd actually forgotten that far back in the conversation. Very Happy

Just call me "Dory", right? Ahem. Going back to the corner, now. Laughing

I'm planning on using some mineral eyeshadows when doing mica tattoos on myself or Cianie, but I don't know how professional it would look for someone working, say, a festival. Also they're not exactly priced for volume, if you know what I mean!

I have a friend who makes mineral makeup for herself, and she says that most companies add other ingredients to the mica for eyeshadows, to stop it fading/falling off so fast. Pure mica can be a bit low-adherence, I think - though obviously that doesn't matter if you're putting it on tattoo glue, which will make it stick pretty darn well! Very Happy

I did my first glitter tattoo party yesterday and it was a blast! UNTIL I did a black mica tattoo and boy was it messy! Really not feeling it and doubt Iíll continue to offer any mica, but especially not black. Would love to know your trick Eileen!

I might consider trying the black moonlight glue instead.

Since colorini came on the market we don't use mica anymore, the main purpose of the mica was to offer a mate more like a real tattoo look, that effect you will get faster and easier with colorini.

I like the moonlight colored glues better than colorini... Very Happy I still use mica (eyeshadow) to though for some colors.
